Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro now offers a pintxo menu – a collection of tasty one-bite-wonders designed with the concept of variety at an affordable cost in mind.  Priced at only $1 each, these amazing “tastes” can be ordered as a starter to a full meal, or a bunch to share with friends while enjoying Vinifera’s vast selection of 300+ wines, available by half pour, full glass or flights of three. 

 

Pintxo, a traditional cuisine in the Basque region of Spain, is a take on the Spanish word pincho, or “to pierce.”  Executive Chef Bo Palker has created his own variation of this fare using the fresh herbs and vegetables grown in his garden on-site at the restaurant.  The Mediterranean-influenced items, served on skewers, include:

 

Boquerones (Anchovies), Tomato, Parsley and Garlic

Caramelized Onion, Tarentaise Cheese and Olive

Abruzze, Appellation and Quince Paste

Speck & Farmstead Cheddar

Harrisa Dusted Shrimp, Olive and Tomato

Crispy Baby Artichoke and Smokey Blue Cheese

Fresh Mozzarella and Oven Dried Tomato

Medjool Date and Lime Chirvel Mascarpone

 

In addition, Chef Palker offers a second way for patrons to sample and savor distinct flavors, but in larger portions, with an assortment of tapas-style dishes.  The new small plates ($3-$6) include Lamb Kafta on Pita with Tzatziki Sauce; Lobster Cohiba in Sweet Chili Sauce; and Portuguese and Venison Sausages, with Spicy Mustard and Green Tomato Marsala Compote.

 

 “Our pintxo and small plates menus are a versatile dining option created to encourage conversation and a communal dining experience for our guests,” said Chef Palker.  “They are intended to be mixed and matched to satisfy varying appetites and allow people to feel comfortable trying a range of flavor profiles without breaking the bank.”

 

Conveniently located off Route 267, Vinifera provides a welcoming and rejuvenating setting to decompress from a long day.  The pintxos and small plates, as well as Vinifera’s regular award-winning dinner menu, are available in the intimate bar and lounge area, open, illuminated dining room, or on the secluded outdoor patio, surrounded by plush trees and custom hand-made Hawaiian fire pits that will bring warmth to those dining al fresco as the weather starts to cool.
