Become a Member of the Design Team For Two Skateparks

From Fairfax County Park Authority:

The Fairfax County Park Authority will hold two Design Review Meetings in order to gain public input into the planning of a new skatepark at Lake Fairfax Park and the expansion of Wakefield Skatepark located next to the Audrey Moore RECenter. The public is invited to both meetings for a chance to share concepts and suggestions.  Earlier this summer we gathered initial input.  You told us what you thought and what you wanted to see.  Now it’s time to make sure we got it right!

Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Audrey Moore RECenter. Join Park Authority staff and the experts from Spohn Ranch for a chance to design the addition at Wakefield Skatepark.  Audrey Moore RECenter is located at 8100 Braddock Road in Annandale.

Those interesting in helping design the new skatepark at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston will need to mark their calendars for Thursday, October 27, at 7 p.m.  The meeting will be held at Armstrong Elementary School in the cafeteria.  The school is located at 11900 Lake Newport Road in Reston.

Visit us online at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/plandev/skateparkdevelopment.htm and take a look at the concept plan.  You can send your comments and suggestions for changes until November 9 at Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov.
