RCC Board of Governors Seeks Community Input for 5 Year Plan

From the Reston Community Center:

RESTON, VA — The Reston Community Center Board of Governors is seeking community input to help guide its strategic planning as it prepares the agency’s Five Year Strategic Plan (2011 through 2016).  The Board will gather input on Reston’s cultural, recreational, and leisure time needs at its annual Joint Community Relations and Program/Policy Committees’ meeting on Monday evening, February 14th, at 6:30 p.m. at RCC Hunters Woods.  All community members are encouraged to attend.  RCC Hunters Woods is located at 2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston.  Please RSVP your attendance to RCC Executive Assistant, Janet Dopsovic, at Janet.Dopsovic@fairfaxcounty.gov.

“Every five years, we develop a new strategic plan to build upon our strengths, prioritize needs and establish a roadmap for the future,” says Beverly Cosham, RCC Board Chair.  “As we look forward to the next five years, we again turn to our community to ensure that our 2011-2016 Strategic Plan truly reflects their needs and priorities for the RCC programs and services they want.”

“We are looking forward during a time when the community as a whole is anticipating rapid change that will accompany the completion of the Dulles Corridor Metro Rail Silver Line.  It is an ideal point at which to contemplate the future,” says Leila Gordon, RCC Executive Director.  “The new Strategic Plan will consider the impact of coming residential and commercial growth in Reston and how RCC should best respond to that growth.”

The Board’s monthly meeting schedule is posted on the RCC’s website at wwww.restoncommunitycenter.com and published in local newspapers.  Community members who are unable to attend, but wish to provide comments, may send a statement that includes name, address, contact information, and if applicable, organizational affiliation, to RCCcontact@fairfaxcounty.gov or mailed to:
