23 New Americans to be Naturalized at the Reston Multicultural Festival

The following was sent to us by the Reston Community Center:

In partnership with The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the 10th Annual Reston Multicultural Festival will include a special naturalization ceremony.  Washington District Director Sarah Taylor will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America’s newest citizens at the Reston Multicultural Festival on September 25.

The ceremony is part of the Reston Community Center’s annual celebration of the diversity and welcoming community spirit that is found in Reston. Hunter Mill District Supervisor Cathy Hudgins will provide keynote remarks and welcome the new citizens during the event.

The 23 citizenship candidates originate from the following 19 countries: China, Cuba, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Turkey and Vietnam.

Members of the media, please RSVP to bebe.nguyen@fairfaxcounty.gov by close of business Friday, Sept. 24. Parking is available at the upper lot of Lake Anne Plaza (accessed at North Shore Drive and Washington Plaza West), Brown's Chapel Park (1875 Brown's Chapel Road, across Baron Cameron Road from the Lake Anne Village Center) and the Tzu Chi Foundation (1516 Moorings Drive).
