The 2012 DC Design House is the leading fundraising event for Children’s National Medical Center with 23 beautifully finished rooms in the Spring Valley home located at 4951 Rockwood Parkway, NW, Washington, DC.
Designed by 23 area designers, the home will be open to the public with a small donation of $20 on Saturday, April 14 to Sunday, May 13. Everything within the home can be purchased, and proceeds will benefit Children’s National Medical Center.
Six children were raised in the 10,000-square-foot, seven bedrooms, seven-bath estate, which was built in 1956.
W.C. & A.N. Miller originally built the home situated on a one-half-acre site for the late Dr. Aguirre and his family. He was an international consultant and founder of the Diario Las Americas newspaper, which still operates in Miami.
Hours: Saturdays-Sundays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays-Fridays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The house is an absolute must-see design attraction with consistent and timeless details throughout. Washington Fine Properties originally listed the estate at $3.9 million, but after the gorgeous renovations, the house stands at $3,999,000.
