From the Reston Association:
RESTON, Va. –This season, there will be one less pool to enjoy while Dogwood Pool undergoes a major facelift. To save an estimated $10,000 in additional costs to open the 32-year-old facility for just one season, the Reston Association Board of Directors voted to start the renovations as soon as plans are approved.
The improvements to the existing 20-meter pool include a new water basin with a zero depth entry, in-water bench seating, three 25-meter lap lanes and a diving well. There are also upgrades to the bathhouse to modify it for accessibility, a new picnic pavilion and water spray and play area. The pool is expected to re-open in the 2012 season.
