Dog rescued from icy lake in Reston

RESTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- Firefighters rescued a dog that fell into an icy lake in Reston Wednesday morning. 

Fairfax County Fire firefighters rescued the dog shortly after 8:42 a.m. at Lake Thoreau at 2004 Turtle Pond Drive in Reston. Officials said the 75-pound dog fell through thin ice. It was struggling to get out of the ice when crews got to the scene. The dog was rescued within ten minutes. 

According to officials the dog has been returned to its owner and has no injuries.
