Tigerlily Foundation to Host 2nd Annual Gala

The Tigerlily Foundation, which is headquartered in Reston, VA, is an organization dedicated to educating and supporting young women affected by breast cancer. The foundation will be hosting their 2nd Annual Gala on September 29, 2010 and the theme is Pink Masquerade Ball. The gala will be held at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel at 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington D.C.

The evening will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will include a cocktail reception, dinner, live and silent auctions, raffles, speeches and entertainment. The keynote speaker and honoree is Rep. Donna Christensen of the United State House of Representatives, D-VI.

Smart Markets to Continue Through October 29

Smart Markets Inc., founded in early 2008 by Jean Janssen, is the newest group of farmer’s markets to the Northern Virginia area. Janssen herself has been a resident of Northern Virginia for 25 years. These markets serve Centreville, Fairfax Corner, Gainesville, Herndon, Oakton and Reston and provide guaranteed producer-only farmers’ markets.

Three More Months Left of Reston Farmer's Market

As the summer begins the slip away, we are reminded there are only a few more months left of the Reston Farmer’s Market. The Reston Farmer’s Market at Lake Anne first opened on May 8th and will continue through October. If you still haven’t had a chance to visit, the market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Some vendors include Grace’s Pastries, Colonial Kettle Corn, Cherry Glen Goat Cheese Co., Ole Pioneer’s Kitchen, Reid’s Orchard Winery, and Middleburg Creamery to name a few.
